2012 - A Pivotal Year for Digital Printing

Giclée Media Supplies wishes the inkjet community a Happy New Year for 2012, a pivotal year for digital printing. Today the 5th January 2012, it was reported in The Wall Street Journal that Kodak may file for bankruptcy. This rather sad omen for the possible ultimate death of silver based processing may define 2012 as the pivotal year for digital printing. Not because of any fundamentally new inventions but because it may define the time period by which the majority of professional printing is done on a wide format or desktop inkjet device.

Horowitz in China

Moab Master, Ryszard Horowitz, just had a recent exhibition in China, printed entirely on the new Lasal Exhibition Luster 300.
Wheelock Square, located in the heart of Shanghai’s vibrant Nanjing West Road district, hosted an exclusive Shanghai retrospective of the works of this renowned Polish-American photo-artist.
To celebrate the Polish Presidency in the European Union across China, the exhibition took place from Oct 20 to Nov 8 with ten of his most famous works on display in the vast open ground floor lobby of Wheelock Square. [Read More - Ryszard Horowitz]

Coco Chanel

All the images for the Coco Chanel exhibition in Tokyo, featuring a collection of photos from Douglas Kirkland, were printed on Moab Entrada Rag Natural. In 1962, world-class photographer Douglas Kirkland spent three weeks with the most important fashion icon of all time, Coco Chanel. Over the course of this stay, Kirkland photographed Coco with her friends, on the runway, and in the privacy of her homes. Kirkland reveals these never-before-seen photographs in all their vibrancy, shedding new light on one of the world's most enduring, multi-faceted, and bestselling fashion legends of all time. Joshua Holko Wins Gold

His recent photo Blue Berg won the prestigious Gold Award at the Australian Professional Photography Awards. The upcoming issue of Color Magazine will also be featuring his work in a four-page spread. And next month the International Aperture Academy will be featuring Holko as their photographer of the month.
